PHOENIX, ARIZONA.- The Texas Rangers were crowned champions of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the first time in their history, by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games in the World Series.
The Rangers won Game 5 of the series by a score of 5-0 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. With this victory, the Rangers became the sixth team in MLB history to win their first championship after losing two consecutive World Series.
The Texas team was led by outfielder Corey Seager, who was named World Series MVP. Seager hit .364 with three home runs and six RBIs in the series.
The Rangers’ victory is a historic moment for the franchise and the city of Arlington. The Rangers are the most popular team in Texas and their championship is a cause for celebration for fans across the state.
