America beats Barcelona 3-2 with a double goal by Julian Quiñones

DALLAS,TEXAS.- The Águilas del América defeated Barcelona 3-2 in a friendly match played in Dallas, Texas, in front of a large crowd.

América, which just won the Liga Mx championship title on Sunday, arrived motivated and used a good part of its first team, while Barcelona mixed young players with some of its stars.

Barcelona took the lead at minute 6 thanks to Lamine Yamal’s goal for the 1-0, in a great action of one of the most promising players of the blaugrana club.

América reacted thanks to Julián Quiñones’ goal in the 12th minute, which lifted the fans, most of whom came to support the Águilas.

Once again, Barcelona came back to regain the lead with Marc Guiu’s goal in the 28th minute to make it 2-1, but América would get back into the game with another goal by Julián Quiñones, who back-heeled the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-2 in the second half.

Towards the end of the match, Henry Martín, who came on as a substitute, managed to give América the victory with his goal in the 82nd minute, sending the Águilas’ fans wild.

América will begin its vacation period after concluding its participation as champion of the Liga Mx, while Barcelona will return to action on January 4 to face Las Palmas in the continuation of the Spanish League.

Thousands of fans celebrated América’s victory, which concluded a dream semester for the Azulcrema team’s followers.
