MIAMI, FLORIDA, Florida, November 10, 2023 – Benjamin Cremaschi, a Inter Miami player, spoke at a press conference about his experience playing alongside the Argentine star Lionel Messi.
Cremaschi, an 18-year-old midfielder of American and Argentine descent, is one of the promising talents in American soccer and has had the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest players in history.
“What I take away the most from Leo is that he’s the best player in the world and he’s humble,” Cremaschi said. “He’s a very good person, and I take a lot from his personal qualities.”
Cremaschi also talked about the goal he scored with an assist from Messi in Inter Miami’s victory over Nashville SC on September 2.
“It was an incredible goal,” Cremaschi said. “Leo found me in a space where there wasn’t much room. I was ready to run wherever needed. I didn’t think it would land there, but well, I was prepared, and we were able to score.”
Cremaschi is aware that he still has a lot to learn but is determined to keep improving.
“I feel like I have a lot to improve,” Cremaschi said. “I’m not a young kid who is far from reaching the next level. I know what I need to focus on this offseason. I’m ready to do whatever it takes to keep getting better and be prepared for next year.”
Cremaschi also weighed in on the debate about who the best player in the world is.
“I think the debate is closed,” Cremaschi said. “Messi has proven it over the last 18 years. He’s the best player in the world and in history.”
Inter Miami will face NYC FC this Friday in the final match of the season, which will serve as a tribute to Messi for winning his eighth Ballon d’Or.
