SANTIAGO, CHILE, November 4, 2023 – The Mexican Under 23 National Team defeated the United States 1-4 in the duel for third place at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, and won the bronze medal.
The match was played at the Sausalito Stadium, and Mexico took the lead in the 43rd minute with a goal from Jordan Carrillo. The United States tied the game in the 23rd minute with a goal from Tega Ikoba.
In the second half, Mexico came back on the scoreboard with goals from Raymundo Fulgencio (50′), Jordan Carrillo (73′) and Alí Ávila (89′).
Those led by Ricardo Cadena finished their participation in the Pan American Games with a bronze medal, after losing in the semifinal against Brazil.
