SEATTLE.– Seattle Sounders defeated FC Dallas 1-0 and advanced to the MLS Playoffs, after winning their second game in the three-game series.
The new MLS competition format requires a third game to be played when the two previous games are tied, which is what happened in this series.
Seattle was the dominant team from start to finish at home and never really saw their qualification to the next round in jeopardy.
From the 25th minute, Seattle began to attack with force on Paes’ goal, who had two good saves before the goal.
The goal came in the 36th minute when, in a good collective move, Albert Rusnák received the ball and, after beating his marker, fired a powerful shot for the 1-0 lead.
Seattle Sounders did not change their approach and remained in the attacking half for most of the game, and they were closer to scoring a second goal than Dallas was getting closer.
In fact, despite what was at stake, FC Dallas never really put the Seattle Sounders defenders in trouble, in a game that was full of fouls and rough challenges in the second half.

With the result, the season is over for FC Dallas, a campaign in which there were higher expectations of a better result, but that ultimately did not materialize.
Seattle is already in the next round and is waiting for their opponent in the fight for the MLS championship.
