¿Why did Inter Miami cancel its tour of China?

MIAMI.- Inter Miami announced the cancellation of its tour of China, in which it had scheduled matches against local teams. What was the reason why the event was cancelled?

This Wednesday, Inter Miami reported in a statement the decision made not to travel to China, a tour for which they had prepared in recent days.

“The tour promoter, NSN, has informed Inter Miami CF of the cancellation of its China Tour due to unforeseen circumstances in China. Inter Miami’s ambition remains to expand its global reach by playing in front of incredible fans from all over the world; the Club will continue to explore future opportunities with NSN to achieve this goal,” the press release stated.

The reason behind the NSN company’s announcement is the death last Friday, October 27, of former Chinese Prime Minister Li Kequiang, who suddenly lost his life in Shanghai.

NSN assured that as a respected brand in China and as a sign of mourning, it made the decision to cancel the two games, in which Messi was the main attraction.

But why was it not only postponed, but canceled? The company added that it was impossible to find new dates due to Inter Miami’s busy schedule in the coming months.

Inter Miami, like NSN, do not rule out the future realization of this tour, but it will possibly have to wait until the end of next year, since in this new cycle of MLS soccer, there seems to be no space for a prior rescheduling.

The Inter Miami players reported for practice today, still thinking about the duels in China, but now everything indicates that they will receive vacations, possibly until the month of January.
